Retired Ragdoll Available: Below is a courtesy listings for 2 Ragdolls looking for homes. They are available at an affordable fee. Please contact the owner directly! Pippin is a 1.5 year old neutered male blue colorpoint ragdoll. (DOB: 10-2-08) Because of my son's allergies, we are heartbroken over our decision to find him another home. He is not a lap cat, but he loves to follow you around the house just to be with you and to get as many pets as you're willing to give out. He is good with dogs, is just OK with other cats (he tends to play very, very rough at times) and is fine with respectful children who will not try to pick him up or be rough with him...he is an all around sweet and affectionate boy. He is about 15 pounds, is up to date on all of his shots, receives monthly Frontline Plus and is strictly an indoors cat. He currently lives in CT. Please contact Tina at tmkm5370@aol.com for more information. Willow is a 1 year old spayed female seal mitted ragdoll. (DOB: 4-19-09) Because of my son's allergies, we are heartbroken over our decision to find her another home. Willow is somewhat timid, but incredibly sweet and affectionate. She is good with dogs and other cats, and gentle with children. She is on the smaller side (less than 10 pounds, although her lines mature slowly, she will most likely get heavier with age), is up to date on all of her shots, receives monthly Frontline Plus and is strictly an indoors cat. She currently lives in CT. Please contact Tina at tmkm5370@aol.com for more information.
All of our retired breeders will be spayed and up to date on their vaccines (FVRCP & Rabies) before leaving our home. They will also have full blood work up done, teeth cleaning, nails clipped, grooming/bath, deworming, etc. If you're interested in one of our retired breeders, please consider contacting us sooner than later. We do allow people to reserve our retired breeders in advance, so they don't miss out on owning one of their own. Our retired breeders are $300+, this covers all expenses, and usually age is a factor in price. We prefer retired breeders to be placed in homes without very young children, many other cats, or young dogs. We want our retired queens to be loved and spoiled in their new permenant homes. Please contact us at: WillowTreeRags@verizon.net for more information, photos, etc. Ruby will be available in Fall 2010. She will be about 2 years old. I would perfer her to go to an only-cat home, possibly with one of her kittens. Her adoption fee is $400.00, but I will lower it if she is adopted with a kitten of her own. She is very sweet, cuddly, and loves people, but she is not cut out to live in a family with multiple cats. She has been DNA tested negative for the RD & MC HCM mutation, as well as PKD. She is on the smaller side, once she is fully mature she will probably weigh about 12-14lbs. She is very pretty with big expressive eyes. If you are interested in Ruby e-mail us at: WillowTreeRags@verizon.net.
Please stay tuned for frequent updates and more information!
* Early Spay/Neuter * All Breeding Cats are DNA tested of HCM & PKD among other genetic diseases. We are striving to become an HCM DNA tested negative cattery. *ALL KITTENS PLACED AS PETS WILL BE SPAYED/NEUTERED BEFORE LEAVING (NO EXCEPTIONS), AND ALL OF OUR KITTENS ARE UNDER A NO-DECLAW CONTRACT!!!* WillowTreeRags only sells breeding cats to TICA/CFA registered breeders, AND CAGE-LESS catteries, where each cat is loved and cared for personally.
Why a WillowTreeRags Kitten?
First of all...
Our Kittens are raised with children, as well as other cats. All kittens raised here in the cattery are underfoot, we are a cageless cattery (we do NOT own ANY cages), and the kittens are allowed to roam free throughout the house once they reach a certain age and have been properly vaccinated. Once you meet one of our kittens you can tell how much individual love, and care each of them receives. Our cats are the floppiest, and sweetest, and are always constantly purring! We socialize each kitten with household items as well (hairdryers, vacuums, etc). We take pride in every kitten we send to a new home, and love to keep in touch, and see how they grow up. Secondly... We strive for traditional cats, and ragdolls that hold strong the traditional look. We stay away from lines with big "owl" eyes that are dark, almost black, dull-looking, or too light. We do not breed inbred cats (within 3 generations), nor do we produce any inbred ragdolls. Inbreeding causes severe genetic defects, and can often not be detected until they are over 3 years old. We do not outcross with other breeds, and don't work with ragdoll catteries who do. We believe the ragdoll should have a medium haired coat, that is thick, plush and rabbit-like, they should have a longer coat around the mane, and tail (REMINDER: This is also the STANDARD, Ragdolls should never have LONG, SHAGGY hair). The ragdoll should also have nice vibrant blue eyes, like the ocean. The ragdolls should have large semi-almond like eyes, and ears that are set towards the sides of their head, which face inward. The ragdoll should have rounded medium sized ears (not small like persians). ALL Ragdolls MUST have BLUE EYES. Ragdolls without blue eyes, are NOT pure ragdoll. We believe in keeping the traditional colors: Blue, Seal, and rarely Lilac or Chocolate. Ragdolls should only come in colorpoint, mitted, or bicolor. That said we work very close with the T.I.C.A. & C.F.A. standard, in order to evaluate our breeding program, and the cats being produced in our cattery. Many other breeders are outcrossing to correct a trait or look they want, and getting other non-traditional like qualities, or inbreeding and causing the ragdolls great trouble with illnesses, weakened immune system, and defect/early death. Lastly... Our ragdolls are backed up 100% by us. If you are unhappy, we will take the kitten/cat back, no questions asked. We keep in touch with every single ragdoll we sell, pets, shows and breeders. Our ragdolls are very well-rounded, it is rare that owners are unhappy with how gentle, sweet, and loving their ragdolls are. They provide families with a ton of entertainment, and are always up for a game! Ragdolls are very relaxed, and do fine with change, they do enjoy traveling, and very much enjoy family life (often referred to as the "Golden Retriever" of the cat breeds), and don't ask for much (they do very well entertaining themselves). All of our breeding cats are DNA tested for PKD and HCM. An altering agreement and no-declaw contract must be signed prior to taking your kitten home, no exceptions. We also have a strict contract against our cats sold as breeders breeding to any mink/solid ragdolls. We are sorry, but this is firm. We do hope you are interested in one of our babies, and would love to talk to you, or even meet you at a local show! Please go to our photo gallery to look at some of our past kittens. ![]() Ragdolls ONLY come in Blue, Seal, Chocolate, and Lilac traditionally. Other colors allowed are Flame, Cream, and Tortie. Ragdoll patterns are Colorpoint, Mitted, and Bicolor, these patterns are also allowed to come in lynx (striping within the color), although we do not usually breed lynx. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, ALL REAL RAGDOLLS HAVE BLUE EYES BECAUSE THEY ARE A POINTED BREED, if your ragdoll doesn't have blue eyes, you DO NOT own a purebred ragdoll. DO NOT fall for those who state on their websites these cats are RARE, they are NOT RAGDOLLS!
